The Invicta Sea Spider series is aptly named for the Invicta Men’s Sea Spider Mechanical Skeletonized See Thru Gold Dial 18K Gold Plated & Grey Polyurethane 1262.  The unique design allows you to peek into the inner workings of your watch while still keeping it unique and stylish.  If you are looking for a timepiece that will pique curiosity and start conversation, this is the watch for you.

The Design

Invicta’s audacious design integrates the simple yet bold grey and gold coloring scheme with the intricate beauty of mechanics of the inner workings of the watch.  Engineers and laymen alike will enjoy the clear flame fusion crystal that allows them to watch the timeless precision of the Invicta watch.

The watch combines the sophistry of mechanics and the gold polish with durability.  The watch is water resistant up to 165 feet and the polyurethane strap ensures both comfort and resilience.

Feature Summary

  • 18 k Gold plated stainless steel
  • Mechanical movement
  • Polyurethane strap with gold accents
  • Flame fusion crystal
  • Unique design
  • Luminous hour and hand dials
  • Water resistant to 165 feet/50 meters/5 ATM

 Cons

  • Although this watch is part of the Sea Spider series, don’t let the name fool you.  The water resistance for this model is only 165 feet and is not a good buy for divers or those who spend a lot of time in or around water.
  • Readability is definitely an issue for this model.  The see-through dial is a unique and cool attribute, it can also be very distracting from the time keeping element of this watch.  The hands are also tiny, further impeding the wearer’s ability to effectively tell the time.
  • This model is not currently available on the Invicta site, which may be a con for those who prefer to buy from the manufacturer itself, but the product can be found through reliable providers through Amazon or Google Products Search.

The Sea Spider Chronograph XL 6480 is a good alternative for those who want more readability.

If you are a fan of the idea of this watch, but want a bit more functionality and stability, the Sea Spider Chronograph XL 6480 combines the nautical theme, bold coloring, and durability with a more readable sea timer model.  This model is also water resistant to 200 meters (650 feet) which makes it truly worthy of the Sea Spider name.

If you are looking for a unique piece as a conversation starter, but aren’t looking to do any deep sea diving, the Invicta Men’s Sea Spider Mechanical Skeletonized See Thru Gold Dial 18K Gold Plated & Grey Polyurethane 1262 is a fantastic model for you.
