Looking for an attractive, deep purple, casual luxury watch? Well, do a search on Google, and you’ll find there’s only a handful. There are many light purple, kids’ watches, or cheap plastic looking ones, but there really aren’t many attractive, high-end purple watches. Enter the Invicta Women’s Angel White Dial Plum Rubber Quartz Watch 1625 ($325). With its beautiful, deep purple strap and bezel, rose-plated gold, and other quality details, the Invicta Women’s Angel 1625 is a superb timepiece for the elegant, artistic woman who’s not afraid to be a little different.

Pleasing to the Eye

Immediately, the deep, vibrant plum color of the 15 mm, 8 inch-long wide rubber strap catches your eye. The light bouncing off of the rubber surface is reminiscent of a real plum’s surface, or perhaps a Japanese gummy candy. The dark plum bezel matches the strap, and is cut to resemble a flower’s edges. 18 karat rose gold plates the surface of the stainless steel case, and is found also in the materials of the push-pull crown; the luminous Arabic numerals; and the hour, minute, and second hands. The white dial rounds off this well-designed watch.

Plumb Full of Practicality

Yet the Invicta 1625’s functionality also shines as much as its visual appeal. The aforementioned luminous gold Arabic numerals make it very easy to tell the time. The black indices surrounding the Arabic numeral hour markings also help—and if that’s not enough, for some added flair, there are white markers on the bezel as well: a 60, 15, 30, and 45-minute Arabic numeral to indicate the minutes that correspond with the hour, with white dots to indicate the minutes in between.

Pros:

In addition to its fabulous look, the Invicta 1625 also features:

  • fine Japanese quartz movement
  • flame fusion crystal
  • water resistance up to 99 feet/30 meters/3 ATM, meaning it can withstand rain, splashes of water, and even short recreational swimming

Dusty plum with sub-dials: the Invicta Angel Gold-Plated Purple Polyurethane Watch is an alternative choice

Cons:

  • This watch may not be for everyone, however. It is a simple watch, that does not have extras such as a date display, timer, chronograph sub-dials, glow-in-the-dark hands, or water resistance for snorkeling, skiing, or diving. There are no crystals, diamonds, or interchangeable straps thus far for this model.

If you’re looking for a similar model but with a lighter, dusty purple color and chronograph sub-dials, try the Invicta Angel Collection Gold-Plated Purple Polyurethane Watch 0710 ($395). This features Arabic numerals as well, the flower-shaped bezel with minute markers, but in addition has three sub-dials for the date, day, and 60 seconds (rather than having a second hand). This doesn’t have quite the dark elegance of the 1625, but it may for those who prefer a more light, casual, breezy look to their watch and/or sub-dials.

The Final Word:

The Invicta Women’s Angel White Dial Plum Rubber Quartz Watch 1625 is a beautiful, classy, yet modest timepiece, perfect for everyday wear, at the office, or out on the town. It’s not meant to be a fancy piece of jewelry for a formal party or ball, but definitely stands out with its rich plum color, symmetrical details, and lack of anything ostentatious or gimmicky. It is not currently available on the Invicta site, but you can find it online for as low as $46. For that price and for this style, this is a fantastic bargain you can’t beat and a plum you’ll want to pick before it’s gone.
