Fashionable and feminine, the Invicta Women’s Subaqua Noma IV Chronograph White Polyurethane & 18k Rose Gold Plated Chronograph watch is well suited for both business and casual wear.  The striking mother of pearl dial and beautifully polished rose gold accompanied by the white polyurethane band make it a stylish and attractive timepiece.  Although this Invicta watch has many high-end features and is of exceptional quality, it is difficult to read the time.

If you are a diver or a runner, you will appreciate the subaqua and chronograph features. Water resistant up to 1,640 feet (500M), this feature is a must for the underwater adventurer. Runners will also be satisfied with the three chronograph sub-dials with 60 second, 30 minute, and 1/10th second functions. While the sub-dials are a nifty feature, they are large and spaced close together, making the face of the watch appear cluttered.

Ultimately, the purpose of a watch is to display the time. However, there are several features of the Women’s Subaqua Noma IV Chronograph Watch that make it visually difficult to read the time. Tiny circles on the dial indicate the hours and the large sub-dials practically run into the hour marks. The dots  at the 11, 12, 1, 5, 7, and 8 hour marks are larger and more accentuated than the other dots, giving the face a bit of an asymmetric look. It would be much easier to glance at the time, if the hour marks were symmetric, larger, and written as numerals.

In addition, the white orb-hour hands blend in with the white background of the dial. Although they are accentuated with the rose gold and black outline around the edges, a contrast of colors between the hands and dial background would make viewing the time more ideal. Fortunately the hands are large, which does aid in the visibility of the precise Swiss-quartz movement. This timepiece includes a date function, but the feature is oddly placed at the four marking and is slanted, again adding to the asymmetric face and making it difficult to see.

If you like the style of this watch, but could do without the chronograph feature, you might prefer the Invicta Women’s 0540 Subaqua Noma IV Collection 18k Gold-Plated Stainless Steel and White Polyurethane Watch.  This watch is similar in style to the Women’s Subaqua Noma IV Chronograph 537 and appears less cluttered. The date function is placed upright at the three mark, making it easy to read. The hour markings on the 0540 model are also much larger than on the 537 model featured in this review.

In addition to the fact that it is difficult to tell time, the Women’s Subaqua Noma IV Chronograph is heavy and bulky on the wrist. Buy it if you love the fashion along with the subaqua and chronograph features. Forget it if you want a light-weight practical wrist watch to easily view the time at a glance.

Pros:

  • Beautiful rose gold
  • Chronograph with three sub-dials
  • Water resistant up to 500 M

Cons:

  • Difficult to read the time
  • Bulky
