Active men will love the Reserve Chronograph by Invicta (0646). It’s durable build and chic style keep things interesting without screaming for attention.

Invicta delivers dramatic fashion and reliable style with all of its watches, and this one is no different. The case is made of stainless steel, which has been brushed a polished to a refined silver. The light grey, polyurethane strap is both comfortable and durable. A fixed stainless steel bezel, scratch resistant flame fusion crystal, and screw down crown ensure durability. The watch is also water-resistance down to 100 meters (330 feet).

The case measures 47 mm in diameter and 20mm thick. The Reserve Chronograph has an analogue display. It has a grey dial with silver, luminous hands and index hour markers and minute markers around the outer rim. It also has three sub-dials displaying: 1/10th seconds, 30 minutes, and 60 seconds as well as a date display (which appears at the 4 o’clock position).

Features:

  • Swiss quartz movement
  • Flame-fusion crystal
  • Date function
  • Luminous
  • Scratch resistant
  • Stainless steel case
  • Grey dial
  • Stainless steel band

The Invicta Reserve (0646) typically sells for around $1,995.00, but can be found for $239.00-309.99 if you’re comfortable with an online purchase. I recommend checking for deals on Amazon.com, Overstock.com, or Endless.com.

A back view of the Invicta Reserve Chronograph shows its grey polyurethane band and stainless steel buckle. The band is of average length.

The Reserve’s band is a grey polyurethane with a stainless steel buckle clasp.

Pros:

  • Durable and Scratch Resistant
  • Water-resistant
  • Luminous
  • 1-Year Warranty
  • Comfortable fit

Cons:

  • Polyurethane doesn’t breath
  • Sporty feel

The Reserve has an easily readable dial, provided you don’t mind the lack of numerals. You’ll find that the swiss-quartz movement keeps time precise while the luminescent hands and markings make it easy to read even in a low light environment.

Invicta’s trade marked flame-fusion crystal (a synthetic crystal that combines mineral and sapphire) cannot de-laminate, and is far more impact resistant. This combined with the scratch resistance will keep the timepiece looking good besides.

The Invicta Reserve Chronograph shown with measurements illustrated.

The Invicta Reserve measures 47x47mm in diameter; its case is 20mm thick.

Polyurethane is flexible and highly resilient, leaving you with a comfortable fit that will flex with your wrist as you move. This material can be uncomfortable after long periods of excursion, since it does not breath well. Still, it’s probably a better choice than leather at the gym. The buckle clasp holds the watch in place well, and goes well with the rest of the watch visually, since it is also stainless steel.

The subtle, silver tones are stylish enough it could even pass at the office. The face is less sporty looking than some of Invicta’s other watches, however the Reserve is probably still better suited to active or casual wear than a suit.

Summary:
The durability and sharp looks of the Invitica Reserve Chronograph (0646) make it an appealing addition to an active wardrobe. The smoother face shape and soft, silver color scheme make it possible though to wear this watch in a variety of settings. The quality of Invitica is once again evident, and the Reserve is definitely worth the money if it suits your style.
